5 Steps To A Sports Scholarship For High School Students

by "Scouting" <admin@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 24, 2006 at 04:58 AM

High school athletes that want to attend college on an athletic
scholarship should begin the scholarship search by following the five
tips listed below. These tips should be your guide in every step you
take to gain a college scholarship.

EXPOSURE: get maximum exposure to your athletic abilities, because if
coaches can't see you, they can't recruit you.

START EARLY: start your recruitment efforts early, in your freshman or
sophomore years, this way you wont have to rush when you are senior.

SCOUT: scout colleges like they would scout you, find out what it takes
to get in their program, and what they look for in potential students.

PREPARATION: start preparing for your college entrance exams (i.e. SAT,
ACT) early, this will help you do better on the actual exams.

VOLUNTEER: volunteer in community service programs, not just to get
recruited, but because it makes you a better person.

The recruitment statement is an online profile that spotlights your
personal, academic, and athletic achievements. To get started
